As we head into the second half of the year, we’re thrilled to share some of the newest updates and offerings available to providers on the Tava platform. These initiatives are designed to support your work, expand your impact, and make it easier than ever to access benefits, resources, and new clients.

Here’s what’s new!

1. Care Navigator Appointment Booking

We’ve launched a new tool for care navigators to book therapy appointments directly on behalf of clients, removing friction and ensuring more clients get connected with care quickly.

When a care navigator books a session for a new Tava client, the session is marked as pending. Here’s how it works:

  1. Session is booked by the care navigator
  2. Client receives an email notification prompting them to:
    • Set a password and finish creating their account
    • Complete the client intake forms
    • Accept the provider’s policies
  3. If the client completes these steps within 24 hours, the session is confirmed.
  4. If they don’t, the session is automatically canceled.

This ensures all administrative requirements are met before care begins, and avoids any last minute cancellations that create gaps in provider schedules.

2. Expanding Access with Insurance EAP Sessions

We’ve launched a new partnership that allows clients to access insurance-sponsored EAP therapy sessions through Tava. Unlike traditional EAPs (which are sponsored by employers), these sessions are funded through the client’s insurance plan and are offered at no cost to the client.

This update expands your reach to new clients who are actively looking to use their therapy benefits, and offers you the chance to build long-term relationships with clients who may transition into regular insurance-based care.

Both new and existing clients can choose to use insurance EAP to cover the cost of their sessions. Here’s how to tell when you have an insurance EAP session:

  • Client Profiles: EAP coverage will appear in the “Coverage” section of a client’s profile as EAP, followed by the insurance name. You’ll also see the number of sessions allotted.
  • Schedule: Sessions covered under EAP will show a shield icon on your calendar, with additional details when you click on the session.
  • Session Reminders: When joining an EAP session, a callout will remind you of the session type and the requirements that go along with it.
  • Session Notes: You’ll also see a callout when drafting session notes to indicate the session was insurance EAP.

This is a great opportunity to fill calendar gaps, connect with motivated clients, and help them start therapy at no cost.

3. Health Benefits for Providers

We know that navigating insurance as an independent provider can be tough. That’s why we’ve partnered with Stride, a free platform that helps you find affordable health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus discounts and tax tools to support your practice.

What Stride offers:

  • Compare and enroll in plans (92% of users qualify for savings)
  • One-on-one support from licensed advisors
  • Track mileage and expenses to save up to $710/year
  • Discounts on gas, prescriptions, and more

Signing up is free, and is available to all Tava providers. Enroll year-round after a qualifying life event, or during Open Enrollment (Nov 1–Jan 15).

4. Provider Referral Program

We launched our first ever Provider Referral Program during Mental Health Awareness Month in May, but due to positive feedback, we’ve extended the program through the end of summer! This program allows Tava providers to earn rewards when they refer another provider to the Tava platform.

Here’s how it works:

  • Refer a provider using your personalized referral link
    Earn a $20 gift card when they sign up
  • Earn an additional $80 gift card when they see their first insurance client on Tava (That’s up to $100 per referral!)
  • Repeat and earn, as many times as you’d like!
